Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Cedrina Averette has a passion for helping her clients cultivate and develop as they struggle through the difficult experiences life may bring. She provides individual and group therapy for older adolescents and adults with social, emotional and behavioral difficulties. Her clinical interests include depression, anxiety/stress, grief/loss, trauma, identity development, relationship issues, and general adjustment concerns. Dr. Averette also conducts child and adult ADHD/LD evaluations, personality and career assessments, neuropsychological screening assessments, and consultation based assessment referrals, such as pre-surgical evaluations. Her therapeutic style is integrative and influenced by developmental, humanistic, interpersonal, multicultural and strength-based perspectives. She often integrates the evidence-based approaches of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Dr. Averette earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston in May 2016. She is a former graduate of Carleton College and earned a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Houston in 2013. She completed her doctoral internship at the Southern Louisiana Internship Consortium at Louisiana State University and Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System in Jackson, Louisiana.
